Interior Design Students’ Practical Site Analysis Study at Plan 1661 Co., Ltd.

Bangkok, July 8, 2026: As part of their Interior Design Studio 1 Residential program, Raffles International College interior design students visited Plan 1661 Co., Ltd., an architectural and design business in Bangna. The goal of the tour, which was overseen by Ms. Lonsai Kangkhao, a Distinguished Lecturer in Interior Design, was to provide students with firsthand knowledge in site analysis.

During the study tour, students measured land plots, surveyed existing building conditions, and studied the site context. These activities helped them collect important data for their residential interior design projects. They also practiced redrawing floor plans and sections onsite, which allowed them to check dimensions immediately and understand spatial logic more clearly.

The trip provided students with practical skills in surveying, mapping, and contextual observation. They learned how to connect design ideas to real conditions and analyze site dimensions alongside environmental and local factors. This hands-on experience strengthened their technical ability and improved their confidence in managing design tasks.

Students’ comments indicated that the site visit was a worthwhile educational experience. They believed that working on an actual site made design responsibilities more tangible and simpler to comprehend. The event itself helped connect classroom theory with professional practice, and the collaborative setting promoted cooperation and communication.
