Interior Design Students Explore Ratchaprasong
Bangkok, August 3 – Interior Design students from Raffles International College joined an educational field trip to Ratchaprasong. The trip was led by Mr. Wynn A. Bay, Programme Director of Interior Design. Students visited the site and learned how design connects with business needs. It was a valuable opportunity that allowed them to see the process outside the classroom.
During the visit, Raffles students conducted site surveys and analyses. They observed location access, traffic flow, and demographics at both the micro and macro scales. By studying the actual environment, they gained hands-on experience that will help them apply classroom theory to real projects.
The trip also highlighted the importance of keeping up with industry demands. Students saw how retail businesses respond to customer needs and how design choices influence the shopping experience. This connection between design and business reflects the way two paths come together in the real world.
The field trip was both fun and educational. Students explored, shared ideas, and gained deeper knowledge about design. Activities like this encourage them to think beyond textbooks and prepare for real-world challenges. Raffles will continue to provide more learning opportunities like this, helping students grow as designers and professionals.
