Site Analysis! Interior Design Field Trip at Ratchaprasong
Bangkok, April 28 – Interior Design students from Raffles International College, enrolled in the Studio Retail course, joined an educational field trip to the Ratchaprasong area for a hands‑on site visit. The trip was designed to give students real-world exposure to the environment that they can draw upon and adapt for their upcoming retail design projects.
During the visit, Raffles students carried out surveys and analyses at both micro and macro levels. They observed location features, access points, and traffic flow, while also considering how people interact with the space. This practical exercise showed how field trip opportunities can connect design theory with the realities of a busy urban setting.
The field trip also encouraged students to think about human needs and industry demands. By studying the site closely, they learned how to align their design ideas with current retail trends and customer expectations. This learning opportunity gave them valuable insights into how design must respond to both function and lifestyle.
