Real-World Learning! Interior Design Students at Siam Square
Bangkok, May 26 – Interior Design students from Raffles International College brought their creativity to life with a dynamic field trip to the heart of Bangkok’s Siam Square. This hands-on experience was not only part of their final design project in the Retail Studio course but also provided an invaluable chance for students to visualize how their ideas would unfold in a real retail setting.
The visit enabled Raffles students to gain practical experience by conducting a comprehensive site survey and analysis. By studying demographics, site constraints, and the surrounding environment, they applied classroom knowledge to real-world challenges, clarifying how these factors shape retail design outcomes.
Through real-life locations, students also learned how to align their designs with customer demands and industry trends. Observing the site firsthand gave them valuable insights into how retail spaces function and how design choices must balance practical needs with creative vision.
