Congratulations! Nubrat Nazmul Receives the C-IDEA Design Award 2026
RIC Bangkok, September 5 — Raffles International College Bangkok is proud to announce that Nubrat Nazmul, one of its students, has received the 2026 C-IDEA Design Award in the Product Design category. His entry, “PractiMonk – Re-imagining a Classic Monk-Strap Shoe,” was recognized as an outstanding piece of work that showcases both creative vision and rigorous design thinking. The college extends its warmest congratulations and takes great pride in marking this achievement, which reflects credit on the student and on Raffles alike.
The project was developed with the guidance of Mr. Salapol Ansusinha (Ben), Product Design Lecturer, who has served as the project consultant and has provided ongoing consultation and direction to the student throughout its development. The idea behind PractiMonk was to create a shoe that balances style and practicality. Although many functional shoes prioritize comfort and functionality, they frequently lack a contemporary, stylish appearance. This gave Nubrat the idea to redesign the classic monk-strap shoe into a product that combines everyday functionality, durability, and contemporary style. The result was a versatile shoe suitable for urban lifestyles, rainy conditions, and even uneven outdoor terrain.
One of the highlights of the design is its focus on user comfort and support. PractiMonk features an adjustable monk-strap system, a cushioned foam insole, and a specially designed sole with excellent grip on different surfaces. These practical features are carefully integrated into a sleek and modern design, proving that comfort and fashion can work together.
This award is a wonderful example of how creativity can be transformed into meaningful design solutions. Raffles International College congratulates Nubrat once again on this well-deserved achievement and hopes that this success will inspire even more innovative ideas in the future. We wish her continued success and look forward to seeing more outstanding work in the years ahead.
